What is coming for forest school in 2020?

Updated: Nov 7, 2019

We will have forest school on two different days with three locations to choose from! This will best fit people in more areas with locations that best fit them.

Here is a glimpse of our newest location!

“We are all meant to be naturalists, each in his own degree, and it is inexcusable to live in a world so full of the Marvels of plant and animal life and to care for none of these things." Charlotte Mason

Skill building

We will be working on skills for all ages. Our youngest explorers will enjoy the sensory experience and being in nature facilitates this wonderful connection. Our toddlers we will be working on leaf rubbings, sewing and weaving, and painting. Our elementary school age children will have the option to work on sewing, weaving, painting or knife skills to whittle down sticks and palm frond, and learning how to tie knots so we can put up shelters or hammocks. As always this is child led and is not forced.

Our explorers are never without their faithful palm frond or sticks

"Sticks, bug catcher, digging tools are always in use at any basecamp"

our three basecamps

Our first Location is in St Petersburg on the intercoastal with water play or Oak tree play in a park like setting, our Seminole location is set in the Pine Flatwoods, and our Clearwater location is set in the Oak Hammocks. This allows for the children to get a real feel for the different ecosystems we have in our area. Throughout the seasonal changes the children will be able to see the flora that come into bloom and be able to see the fauna that is both local and migratory to these specific ecosystems.

I wouldn't trade our adventures for anything.
